Conflict in the Middle East was fundamentally linked to the Palestinian issue, he continued, noting that security could not be ensured by denying Palestinians their freedom. Salvation could be found in what Arab nations had proposed in Beirut five years ago and Pakistan supported that position. Palestinian people should be enabled to establish their own State, consistent with Security Council resolutions 242 (1967) and 338 (1973), and the Arab Peace Plan.
