Note by the President of the General Assembly

1. The present document contains a revised programme of work and schedule of plenary meetings of the General Assembly during the main part of the sixty-third session as from 22 October 2008. Additional scheduling of items or changes in the programme of work will be reflected in revised versions of this document.

^aThe time indicated below each date denotes the start of the consideration of the agenda item(s).

2. Inscription in the list of speakers, on a first-come, first-served basis, for the items listed in the present document is now open. For inscription, please call (212) 963-5063.

3. Representatives are reminded to submit draft resolutions sufficiently in advance so that Member States will have adequate time to examine them. Representatives are further reminded that, should a draft resolution have programme budget implications, sufficient time should be allowed to enable the Secretary-General to prepare a statement on the programme budget implications. Additionaltime is also required to enable the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions and the Fifth Committee to review those implications before the draft resolution is acted upon by the General Assembly.
