    21 November 2025 The Sixth Committee concluded the consideration of the main part of its eightieth session, on 21 November 2025. The Committee will resume its meeting at the present session of the General Assembly from 6 to 10 April 2026, in order to continue its consideration of agenda item 86, Protection of persons in the event of disasters.

General information

The Sixth Committee is the primary forum for the consideration of legal questions in the General Assembly. All of the United Nations Member States are entitled to representation on the Sixth Committee as one of the main committees of the General Assembly.
