- On 9 September, Ir Amim is organizing a public tour in Jerusalem, Study Tour of Northern Neighbourhood. The tour examines how Israeli planning policies and barriers redefine the northern perimeter of East Jerusalem and the status of its residents.
North America
- On 21 September, on the International Day of Peace, Rebuilding Alliance is holding a special Senate briefing bringing several children, along with their parents or guardians, from West Bank villages at risk of demolition to speak to the US Congress and share their stories and experiences. The children, together with other children in their villages and thousands of children worldwide, have been making “Pinwheels for Peace,” which they will present at the briefing.
Europe
- On 6 September, Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) is hosting in Brighton an event; Eye Witness Report – Demolitions and the Destruction of Palestinian Communities. The event will feature briefings by two members of PSC, who recently returned from Palestine.· On 8 September, Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Academics for Palestine are hosting a book launch, in Dublin, for Ghada Karmi’s latest book; Return: A Palestinian Memoir. Ghada Karmi will be in conversation with academic and journalist Harry Browne, and will be taking questions from the audience. Karmi is a Palestinian doctor of medicine, author and academic who writes frequently on Palestinian issues in newspapers and magazines, including The Guardian, The Nation and the Journal of Palestine Studies. She is a fellow and lecturer at the Institute of Arab and Islamic studies at Exeter University.
- · From 21 November to 9 December, Palestine Solidarity Campaign is hosting a Palestine Film Festival in Leeds. It will feature the following films by Palestinian directors and/or about Palestine: The Wanted 18, Epicly Palestine’d, Balls, Barriers and Bulldozers, Speed Sisters and Flying Paper.
United Nations
- On 3 December, the United Nations will be celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at its Headquarters in New York. It will be featuring the UN Photographic Exhibition that aims to help change perceptions to counter stigma and stereotyping about persons with disabilities and promote a better understanding of disability issues. NGOs are encouraged to join this celebration by planning their own events or joining in the events at UN Headquarters, as well as submitting their entries for the photo exhibition before 31 October.
