The Fourth Committee (Special Political and Decolonization) this morning adopted its agenda and approved its timetable and programme of work for the fifty-ninth session of the General Assembly.

On 1 and 2 November, the Committee will consider the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) (item 76). On 4 November, it will begin its consideration of the report of the Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and Other Arabs of the Occupied Territories (item 77). The Committee expects to conclude its work for the current session on 8 November.

The Fourth Committee will meet again at 3 p.m. on Monday 4 October to take up issues relating to implementation of the decolonization Declaration.
