Consideration of draft letter to the Arab and Israeli delegations concerning future work of the Commission.
Mr. ROCKWELL suggested that a further paragraph should be added, stating that the Commission remained at the disposal of the parties during the recess, and that the Principal Secretary would be in Jerusalem during that time, prepared to assist the parties in any way and to receive any suggestions they might wish to make to the Commission.
Replying to a suggestion by the CHAIRMAN, the PRINCIPAL SECRETARY expressed the view that it would be preferable not to add a reference to the future plan of work of the Mixed Committee of Experts on Blocked Accounts, which was rather a matter for oral discussion.
With regard to the note which the Commission intended to submit to the Arab and Israeli delegations, the CHAIRMAN expressed the view that the observations and suggestions to be included in that note should be made as full as possible. He asked the Principal Secretary to proceed with the drafting of the note, and noted the Commission’s agreement to meet the following morning to discuss the draft.
