GENERAL CIRCULAR NO. 9.
I am directed to refer to my General Circular No. 8 of the 2nd March, 1948, regarding the request of the United Nations Palestine Commission that they ahead be informed which officers would be willing to remain in the service of a successor authority in Palestine. Unless replies have already been collected in some other form it would be convenient if they could be forwarded on the attached on he attached proform, (Appendix “A”). The address to which replies should be sent to “The United Nations Palestine Commission Secretariat, c/o General Post Office, Jerusalem”.
2. Where officers do not wish to main in the service of a successor authority they should be asked to state their reasons for the information of the High Commissioner, so use to enable him to decide whether the circumstances justify the officer’s refusal within the terms of paragraph 5 of Staff Circular No. 3 of 1948. A tabular statement of the reasons for officers refusals should be submitted on the attached pro-forma (Appendix “B”), addressed to the Civil Service Commissioner, c/o The Chief Secretary’s Office, Jerusalem.
