Consideration of the Draft Supplementary Report to the Secretary-General (5th draft)

The draft report was read paragraph by paragraph.

Paragraphs 1 to 6 were approved, with minor drafting changes.

Paragraph 7 was approved, with minor drafting changes and the addition (at the suggestion of the representative of France) of a sentence expressing the Commission’s hope that the parties would co-operate with the committee of experts on compensation.

Paragraphs 8 to 10 were approved.

The Commission directed that a further draft be prepared for its final approval.

The Commission decided that a covering letter should be sent by the Chairman to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, requesting him to communicate the Commission’s Supplementary Report to the General Assembly.

The Chairman stated that a meeting of the Commission with General Kennedy, Director of UNRWA, had been arranged for 19 October, as agreed during the Commission's stay in Jerusalem.

The meeting rose at 5.30 p.m.
