The meeting was held for the purpose of hearing Mr. STEVENSON (Member of the Society of Friends) who had taken advantage of his stay in Geneva to submit certain observations to the Commission concerning the situation of the Arab refugees in the Middle East. He dealt inter alia with the changes which would occur in the situation of the refugees of the Gaza area if there were any reduction in the rations supplied to them, with the position of the Arabs in Israel and with current population movements in the Middle East.

The CHAIRMAN thanked Mr. Stevenson for his interesting statement and added that the Commission was always glad to use any information which the members of the Society of Friends were good enough to supply.
