Mr. de Boisanger |

Mr. Ethridge |
(U.S.A.) |

Dr. Azcarate |
Principal Secretary |
The seventieth meeting of the Commission was chiefly devoted to discussion of plans for the immediate future and matters to be taken up before Mr. Ethridge’s departure.
Mr. de BOISA.NGER observed that the delay in constitution of the Technical Committee on Refugees had placed him in a very difficult position, in view of the fact that a month had elapsed since his Government had approved the French candidate nominated by the Secretary-General. He proposed that the matter should be discussed with Mr. Cordier, who was at present visiting Lausanne.
The CHAIRMAN remarked that on the suggestion of Mr. Cordier, his delegation would despatch a cable to Ankara requesting the submission of new names for a Turkish candidate. If a reply was not received immediately, he would himself submit the names of suggested candidates.
At the request of Mr. de Boisanger, who felt that reference to Ankara would entail further delay, the CHAIRMAN presented a list of possible candidates for the Turkish post.
