condemns the assassination of Moussa Arafat,

Palestinian Authority Military Advisor

Javier Solana, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), made the following statement today with reference to this morning's killing of Moussa Arafat, Military Advisor to Palestinian Authority President, Mahmoud Abbas.

"I condemn the assassination of Moussa Arafat. This assassination contradicts the efforts of the Palestinian Authority to enforce the rule of law and public order. Those responsible for this murder must be brought to justice.

Acts of this kind run contrary to the interests of the Palestinian people who aspire to live in peace and security."
