New York, 21 September 2011 – Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on the margins of the 66th General Assembly
The Secretary-General met today with His Majesty, King Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The Secretary-General and His Majesty discussed the political reform process in Jordan, the status of the Middle East peace process and other developments in the region, including Libya. The Secretary-General praised the positive role of Jordan in Palestinian state-building efforts, including the contribution of practical assistance. The Secretary-General also underlined the important role of Jordan in supporting United Nations peacekeeping globally.
