4.  Mr. Elfarnawany (Egypt) introduced the draft resolution entitled “Permanent sovereignty of the Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and of the Arab population in the occupied Syrian Golan over their natural resources” on behalf of the sponsors. The draft resolution attempted to address the causes of the deteriorating situation and economic problems in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and in the occupied Syrian Golan. His delegation sincerely hoped that in the not too distant future, following the end of Israeli occupation, there would no longer be any need to discuss such a resolution at the United Nations.

The meeting rose at 4 p.m.
