OF WHICH THE SECURITY COUNCIL IS SEIZED AND ON THE STAGE REACHED IN THEIR CONSIDERATION
Addendum
Pursuant to rule 11 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the Secretary-General wishes to submit the following statement on matters of which the Security Council is seized and on the stage reached in their consideration on 13 December 1958.

12. The Palestine question (see S/4098)
As its 841st meeting, on 8 December 1958, the Security Council decided without objection to include in its agenda as a sub-item under this heading a letter (S/4123) dated 4 December 1958 from the permanent representative of Israel addressed to the President of the Security Council, concerning an incident of 3 December between Israel and Syria in the Hula area. The Council had before is a report (S/4124) from the Chief of Staff of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization in Palestine relating to that incident.
After having invited the representatives of Israel and the United Arab Republic to participate, without vote, in the consideration of this question, the Council began its deliberations on the matter with statements by the representatives of Israel and the United Arab Republic.
