WORKING PAPER ON FUTURE DISCUSSIONS AGREED AT

LAUSANNE TALKS BETWEEN PALESTINE CONCILIATION

COMMISSION AND ARAB AND ISRAELI DELEGATIONS

(The following was received at UN Headquarters from the Press Officer

with the UN Conciliation Commission for Palestine, Lausanne.)

The United Nations Conciliation Commission for Palestine this morning, 12 May, at the Hotel Beaurivage, Lausanne, Switzerland, received in succession the heads of the Arab and Israeli delegations.

In the course of these meetings and at the suggestion of the Commission, an agreement was reached regarding a working paper on which future discussions in Lausanne will be based.

This working paper is the subject of a protocol which has been signed by Dr. Walter Eytan (Israel), Abdel Monem Mostafa Bey (Egypt), Fawzi Pasha Mulki (Hashemite Jordan Kingdom), Dr. Adnan El Atassi (Syria) and the three members of the UN Commission — Claude de Boisanger (France), Hussein Cahit Yalcin (Turkey) and Mark Ethridge (USA).

At their own request, the Arab delegations were received together as a group by the Commission.
