Zeena Didi is the Team Leader of the Humanitarian Team in the Office of the President of the General Assembly. She also serves as the focal point for gender related matters.

Zeena joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives in 2008 and has, over the course of her diplomatic career, served in multilateral, bilateral, and, economic affairs departments. She has previously served at the Permanent Mission of the Maldives to the UN in New York, as Election Officer and focal point for Third Committee (social, humanitarian affairs and human rights issues) and related matters. She was also responsible for the Bilateral Desk, coordinating Maldives-United States bilateral relationship. She has held various portfolios at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs including Director at Economic Cooperation Department, Assistant Director at Foreign Service Institute of the Maldives (FOSIM), and Assistant Director overseeing Japan Desk and United Nations Desk among others.

Zeena holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy from King’s College, London, and a Bachelor of Arts with majors in International Relations, Political Science, and Sociology from Australian National University (ANU), Canberra. She is a Chevening and Australian Awards alumni.
