Supriyanto Suwito is an Adviser on Peace and Security issues in the Office of the President of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (OPGA).

Prior to his secondment at OPGA, Supri worked as a First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Nations in New York. He covered Fourth Committee, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, conflict prevention, mediation and security sector reform. He was also a member of the Security Council team during Indonesia’s term in the Council (2019-2020).

Supri has played an active role in peacekeeping and peacebuilding issues. He served as ASEAN coordinator in Fourth Committee, NAM lead negotiator in the Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations (C-34) and facilitator of the negotiation on Security Council Resolution 2538 (2020) on women in peacekeeping. He was also actively involved in the preparations for the 2021 UN Peacekeeping Ministerial and the establishment of the Group of Friends on the Safety and Security of UN Peacekeepers.

Supri joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in 2007 and has served at the Office of the Foreign Minister, Directorate General of Multilateral Affairs and Directorate General of ASEAN Cooperation. He also served at the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra (2013-2016) and the Indonesian Consulate General in New York (2009-2011).

Supri holds a Master of International Affairs (MIA) from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, New York (2011) and a Bachelor of International Relations from the University of Indonesia, Jakarta (2006). He also attended short courses on international law, diplomacy, economics and international security at Leiden University, the Clingendael – the Netherlands Institute of International Relations, SAIS John Hopkins University and the Australian National University.
