Mariam is an intern on the Communications Team.
Born and raised in Egypt, she studied in The American University in Cairo and graduated with a Bachelor of Political Science and a minor in Economics. She then pursued her master’s degree in International Relations from the American University in Cairo and University of Tübingen in Germany.
Before starting her internship at the United Nations Office of the President of the General Assembly, Mariam has had experience in the UN system as she worked for several United Nations’ entities such as UNDP, UN Women, UNHCR. She also worked for international development organizations such as GIZ, as well as governmental institution as the Ministry of Tourism in Egypt.
Mariam looks forward to working with and gaining experience from the OPGA 76th session Team, and to pursuing a career in the United Nations and getting a PhD in International Relations.
