Igor Bondiuk serves as an Adviser on human rights in the Office of the 76th President of the General Assembly. He also served as an Adviser on social, humanitarian and cultural issues in the Office of the President of the 75th session of the General Assembly.

Igor joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine in 2007 and worked in various positions in his national diplomatic service. From 2008 to 2012, he served at the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United Nations in Geneva, covering mainly the Human Rights Council. Igor then served at the Directorate General for International Law at the MFA of Ukraine. From 2015 to 2020, at the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United Nations, he covered human rights and legal matters on the Third and Sixth Committees. He also served as Legal Adviser on Ukraine’s team during its tenure as a non-permanent member of the Security Council in 2016-2017.

In 2018, Igor served as Vice-Chair of the Special Committee on the Charter of the United Nations and on the Strengthening of the Role of the Organization. He also provided advice as a member of Ukraine’s team during its Vice-Chairmanship in the Third Committee during the General Assembly’s 74th session.

Igor holds a Master’s degree in International Law from the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University of Ukraine. He speaks Ukrainian (native), English, French and Russian.
