Ahmed Salman Zaki is the Executive Assistant to the President of the General Assembly.
Salman is a First Secretary in the Maldivian Foreign Service. He previously participated the General Assembly session in 2019, covering the Second Committee. Salman joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an Assistant Director in 2019. In the Ministry, Salman served in the International Organisations Section, mainly covering non-UN international organisations including the Commonwealth, Organisation for Islamic Cooperation and the Indian Ocean Rim Association. He also served in the Human Rights Section and the Small States, Climate Change and Sustainable Development Section and the United Nations Section.
Prior to joining the Ministry, Salman served in the British High Commission in Colombo, Sri Lanka as a Maldives Political Officer. He has also worked in civil society organizations.
Salman holds a Master of Arts in International Relations and Security from the University of Westminster and a Bachelor of Science in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
