The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Mr. José Ángel López Camposeco, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food. The meeting was also joined by the Undersecretary for Planning and Programming of the Presidency, Mr. Franco Doménico Martínez Mont.
The President was briefed on the efforts made by Guatemala in the areas of food security, sustainable agriculture, and protection of family farming. He also congratulated the Minister on the work done to protect vulnerable population and achieve zero hunger as part of the 2030 Agenda.
Both sides also discussed other relevant topics such the link between agriculture and climate change, the implementation of the SDGs, south-south cooperation and issues related to water and sanitation.
The meeting took place at the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Guatemala City.
