Readout of the meeting between President of General Assembly and the Prime Minister of the Republic Gabon, H.E. Ms. Rose Christiane Ossouka

The President of the 76^th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Ms. Rose Christiane Ossouka, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Gabon.

H.E. Ms. Rose Christiane Ossouka expressed Gabon’s commitment to ensure peace and security in the region during its tenure as an elected member of the UN Security Council for the period (2022-2023). 

She also renewed Gabon’s continuous support to the Presidency of Hope.

The President congratulated Gabon for its membership as an elected member of the security council. He also commended Gabon for its achievements to mitigate climate change. 

Both sides also discussed other relevant topics such COVID-19 recovery, climate change and development in the context of Sustainable Development Goals.

The meeting took place in Sofitel, Hotel Ivoire in Abidjan.
