The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met with H.E. Ambassador Abdallah Al Mouallaimi, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Ambassador Al Mouallimi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the President for his leadership of the General Assembly through tumultuous times, particularly as a unifying and trusted force among the United Nations membership. He wished the President the best of luck for the remainder of the 76th session.
President Shahid expressed his gratitude for Ambassador Al Mouallimi’s support and counsel, including his pivotal role in facilitating achieving consensus among the membership on the process of informal consultations on the Secretary-General’s ‘Our Common Agenda’ report.
The President wished Ambassador Al Mouallimi all the best in his future endeavours and requested that the Ambassador relay the assurances of his highest consideration to the Kingdom’s leadership ahead of his upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia.
The meeting took place in the office of the President of the General Assembly in New York.
