Rovshan Safarov serves as an Adviser of the Legal, Budget and Reforms Team in the Office of the President of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. His focus areas include Our Common Agenda Report of the UN Secretary-General and high-level events of the 76th Session on the themes of human-trafficking and migration.
Rovshan Safarov is a diplomat from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, where he started his career in 2012. Before joining the Office of the President of the General Assembly, Rovshan worked at the International Security Department of MFA. He also served at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the International Organizations in Vienna (2016-2020).
Rovshan holds a postgraduate degree MA in Diplomacy and International Affairs from the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (2012). He has also attended training programs at the George C. Marshall European Centre for Security Studies in Germany.
Azerbaijani being his native language, Rovshan speaks English, Turkish, Russian and has some basic knowledge of German.
