Excellencies,
I express my warm gratitude to the Member States, Principals of UN agencies and civil society for their participation and contributions to today’s discussion, on applying the principles of a Culture of Peace in today’s world.
I reiterate the crucial importance of committing to a culture of peace as new crises and challenges make our world more dynamic and complex, and as the very nature of conflict changes.
In line with its principles, we must commit to long term solutions, such as good governance, strengthening justice, building up institutions, and fostering constructive dialogue and debate.
Simultaneously, we must prioritize inclusivity and engagement between and within all levels of society. From global and regional organizations to nations states to communities on the ground.
I would like to my extend warm gratitude to the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh for their support in co-organizing these different meeting.
I also thank them more broadly for theirengagement in reenforcing a culture of pace and keeping these principles alive throughout theyears.
My friends,
Our discussions have been constructive andstimulating, and I thank all of you for your engagement. Let us work together to realize our common aspiration of a global culture of peace.
Thank you.
