The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E Mr. Jean Asselborn, Foreign Minister of Luxembourg.
Mr. Asselborn commended the President’s leadership and initiatives taken during his Presidency of Hope, including holding the first International Migration Review Forum (IMRF). He highlighted the important role of the General Assembly in forging global cooperation and enhancing multilateralism.
The President thanked the Foreign Minister and the Government of Luxembourg for their support to his Presidency. He thanked the Permanent Representative of Luxembourg for being one of the co-facilitators of the consultations on the Progress Declaration for the IMRF, and commended his work.
The meeting took place in the office of the President of General Assembly, at the United Nations Headquarters.
