The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with Mr. Guy Ryder, Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Director-General Ryder commended the President’s leadership during this exceptional session and reiterated ILO’s support for UN initiatives, including Our Common Agenda, through the promotion of the Global Accelerator on Jobs and Social Protection and transition to climate neutrality.
The President appreciated ILO’s support and reaffirmed his confidence in multilateralism and support of Our Common Agenda. He welcomed strengthened cooperation between the General Assembly and ILO.
The meeting took place in the President’s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
