Readout of meeting between President of General Assembly and the Permanent Representative of Côte d’Ivoire.

On 25 April, the President of the 76^th Session of the General Assembly H.E. Abdulla SHAHID met today with the Permanent Representative of Côte d’Ivoire,  Ambassador Kacou Houadja Leon ADOM.

The President thanked the Permanent Representative of Côte d’Ivoire, for the close collaboration and the support provided by his delegation to the Presidency of Hope.

President Shahid also took the opportunity to congratulate Côte d’Ivoire for hosting the upcoming 15th session of the Conference of Parties (COP-15) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), to be held from 9 – 20 May 2022, in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

Ambassador Kacou Houadja Leon Adom and President SHAHID discussed the preparations of the Conference and underscored the importance this event entail for Côte d’Ivoire, and Arica in particular.

The meeting took place in the President’s office at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
