Today, the President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid held a bilateral meeting with the Director-General of International Development Law Organization, Ms. Jan Beagle, who is visiting New York on the occasion of the 66th session of the Commission on Status of Women (CSW).
President Shahid and Director-General Beagle discussed a variety of issues currently on the agenda of the United Nations, including gender equality, climate justice, and universal vaccination, as well as the ongoing follow-up process to the Secretary-General’s report on Our Common Agenda.
President Shahid commended the role and active participation of IDLO in the work of the United Nations, as an observer in the General Assembly.
The meeting took place in the President’s office at the United Nations Headquarters.
