Meeting between the President of the General Assembly and H.E. Mr. Marcelo Queiroga, Minister of Health of Brazil

The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Mr. Marcelo Queiroga, Minister of Health of Brazil, on the sidelines of the High-Level Thematic Debate entitled “Galvanising Momentum for Universal Vaccination”.

The President noted that the High-Level Thematic Debate was an important step to ensure vaccine equity and finally defeat the virus, and thanked the Minister for his attendance.

Minister Queiroga reiterated Brazil’s commitment to the President’s Five Rays of Hope agenda and to all concerted efforts to overcome the pandemic, highlighting Brazil’s participation in COVAX and the high rate of vaccination among the country’s population.

The meeting took place in the President’s office at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
