Today, the President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid held a bilateral meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Mr. Denis ZVIZDIC, who is visiting New York on the occasion of the annual Parliamentary Hearing, scheduled on 17-18 February 2022.

Parties discussed peace and security issues in the Western Balkans and wider European region, as well as the role of the United Nations in promoting peace and sustainable development worldwide. President Shahid commended the active role of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the work of the General Assembly, including currently as a Chair of the Eastern European Group of States.

The meeting took place in the President’s office at the United Nations Headquarters.
