The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Ms Anna Karin Eneström, Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations.
During the meeting, President Shahid and the Permanent Representative discussed the preparations for the upcoming International Meeting entitled “Stockholm+50: a healthy planet for the prosperity of all – our responsibility, our opportunity”. The Permanent Representative also thanked the President for the adoption of the resolution on “Our Common Agenda”, and discussed possible next steps. The President and the Permanent Representative also discussed other issues of mutual interest, such as civil society participation in the work of the United Nations, and youth empowerment, in particular the PGA Fellowship for HOPE.
The meeting took place in the President’s Office at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
