Readout of meeting between President of General Assembly and Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations

The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Ms. Antje Leendertse, Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations.

Ambassador Leendertse pledged the continued support of Germany to the Office of the President of the General Assembly, including the specific priorities identified in the “five rays of hope” for the 76^th session. Ambassador Leendertse also underlined Germany’s support to multilateralism and to strengthening of the General Assembly.

They also discussed other relevant topics, such as youth, gender equality, “Our Common Agenda”, COP26, Security Council reform and non-proliferation.

The meeting took place in the President’s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
