Readout of Meeting between the President of the General Assembly and State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety of Germany

On the sidelines of COP26, in Glasgow, Scotland, the President of the seventy-sixth session of the General Assembly H.E. Abdulla Shahid met with H.E. Jochen Flasbarth, State Secretary at Germany’s Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety.

During the meeting, President Shahid congratulated Secretary Flasbarth on his work on the “Climate Finance Delivery Plan” prepared ahead of COP26, and thanked him for his participation at the High Level Thematic Debate on Delivering for Climate held on 26 October 2021. 

Both discussed the importance of urgent climate action, and the importance of youth participation.
