On the sidelines of COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland, the President of the seventy-sixth session of the General Assembly H.E. Abdulla Shahid met with H.E. Mr Seve Paeniu, the Minister of Finance and Climate Change of Tuvalu.
During the meeting, Minister Paeniue congratulated President Shahid on his election to the Presidency of the General Assembly, and noted that it was a particular matter of pride for Small Island Developing States.
Minister Paeniue briefed the President on several initiatives Tuvalu is undertaking in collaboration with other countries, on climate change, the ocean and sustainable development.
The President and the Minister agreed on the importance of sharing experiences and best practices among countries.
