Readout of meeting between President of General Assembly and Permanent Representative of Cyprus

The President of the 76^th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Andreas Hadjichrysanthou, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cyprus. 

Ambassador Hadjichrysanthou pledged the continued support of the Government of Cyprus to the Office of the President of the General Assembly and to the Presidency of Hope. He further highlighted climate change and sustainable development as key areas of focus for the Cyprus delegation as well. The Ambassador further briefed the President on the work of the Committee on Relations with the Host Country, which the Permanent Representative of Cyprus chairs.

The President thanked the Government of Cyprus for the expression of support for the Presidency. The President also expressed his commitment to deliver on his vision, and the priorities identified therein.  

The meeting took place in the President’s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
