    The programme established One-Stop Centres to provide sustainable and integrated services to victims and offenders of sexual and gender based violence (SGBV). In 2008, South Africa had one of the highest rates of SGBV in the world. The programme successfully reduced the incidences of violence against women in Vryburg and Sunnyside.

    The programme sought to mitigate the overall impact of HIV/AIDS in vulnerable communities by building the capacities of local institutions, improving institutional care and support for people living with the virus, and reducing stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS.
