Alexander De Croo
Mr. Alexander De Croo is the Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme. He started his official duties on 2 December 2025. Mr. De Croo served as Prime Minister of Belgium from 2020 to 2025. His tenure included crisis management during the COVID-19 pandemic, the coordination of Belgium’s vaccination rollout and economic recovery strategies, and Belgium's presidency of the Council of the European Union during a period of considerable geopolitical strain.
Akihiko Tanaka
Dr. TANAKA Akihiko is President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Before assuming the present post, he was President of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Japan.
Yukio Takasu
Mr. Yukio Takasu has been appointed by the UN Secretary-General as Special Adviser on Human Security successively since 2010. Mr. Takasu leads the UN’s advocacy efforts on mainstreaming human security, including advancing the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Shuvai Busuman Nyoni
Ms. Shuvai Busuman Nyoni is the Executive Director of the African Leadership Centre (ALC), Nairobi, Kenya, and a gender, peace and security practitioner and researcher. The ALC is a research and training initiative that seeks to contribute to Africa’s long term social and economic security and development terrain by training and mentoring the next generation of African leaders as well as through rigorous research and knowledge generation.
Karima El Korri
Ms. Karima El Korri is the Director of the Sustainable Development Unit in the Executive Office of the Secretary-General. She brings more than 20 years of international development experience to the role, acquired through senior leadership positions both within and outside the United Nations.
Amy Pope
Amy Pope became Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) on 1 October 2023, bringing a wealth of experience in addressing complex migration issues and passion for changing the global narrative about people on the move. She is the first woman to hold the post in IOM’s 73-year history.

16 June 2017 Panama assumes Presidency of the Human Security Network: At a luncheon summoned by the Permanent Representative of Panama to the UN, H.E. Laura Flores, Panama assumed leadership of the Human Security Network from Slovenia. At the handover, Network members voiced their commitment to human security, its added value to the work of the United Nations and to collective efforts to ensure its visibility.
