“Israeli settlements as an obstacle to peace – possible ways forward”
The UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP), in cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the League of Arab States, will hold an International Meeting on the Question of Palestine in Brussels on 7 and 8 September 2015, under the theme “Israeli settlements as an obstacle to peace – possible ways forward”. On 9 September, the Committee will hold separate consultations with civil society organizations.
Meeting participants will discuss Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, their status under Israeli and international law, as well as the impact of Israeli settlement activity on the life of Palestinian people and the EU guidelines on import of goods produced in the settlements.
Participants will be international experts, including from Israel and the State of Palestine, and representatives of the diplomatic community, civil society and academia.
