From Philippe Lazzarini, the UNRWA Commissioner-General as posted on his official X account (previously known as Twitter)
On average, 100 people are reported killed every day in Gaza due to the Israeli military operation or shootings at the “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” food points.
Meanwhile, others die of hunger or lack of medical care.
The growing death toll is fueling a growing indifference.
Brecht said: “When crimes begin to pile up they become invisible. When suffering becomes unendurable the cries are no longer heard”.
- Ongoing crimes must continue to be documented.
- The suffering must be heard and attended to.
