HIGHLIGHTS
- Continued hostilities had an extremely worrying impact on the population in the Gaza Strip. Up to 1.9 million people (or nine in ten people) across the Gaza Strip are internally displaced.
- The food diversity intake of young children as well as of pregnant and breastfeeding women is extremely limited and 2.13 million people in the Gaza Strip (95 per cent of the population) faced high levels of acute food insecurity according to the June 2024 IPC analysis.
- UNICEF provided recreation activities to 19,000 children including 1,300 children with disabilities and supported girls’ well-being by distributing Adolescent Girls’ Personal Care kits to over 9,600 adolescents through women-led organizations. Also, UNICEF distributed 105,500 identity bracelets to prevent separated and unaccompanied children.
- UNICEF provided 3.3 million litres of fuel, which ran wells and desalination plants to provide lifesaving water for more than 1.6 million people, including over 0.8 million children.
