Letter dated 3 April 2024 from the Secretary-General addressed to the President of the Security Council
In accordance with rule 59 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, I have the honour to circulate herewith the enclosed letter from the Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, dated 2 April 2024, referring to the application of the State of Palestine for membership in the United Nations contained in document S/2011/592, dated 23 September 2011, and requesting that renewed consideration be given to this application by the Security Council during the month of April 2024 (see annex).

In reference to the application of the State of Palestine for membership in the United Nations contained in document S/2011/592, dated 23 September 2011, and upon instructions of the Palestinian leadership, I have the honour to request that renewed consideration be given to this application by the Security Council during April 2024. I should be grateful if you would transmit this request to the Security Council as soon as possible.
