North America
- On 23 October, the Palestine Center of the Jerusalem Fund for Education and Community Development, Washington D.C. held their Annual Conference: “Palestine and the Palestinians: Media, People, Politics” with internationally renowned scholars, activists, journalists, and other media practitioners who examined multiple aspects of the current situation, focusing on the context and representation of Palestinians in the media, regional and international politics, and in the United States.
- On 27 October, the Israel Palestine NGO Working Group to the UN in New York, together with Rebuilding Alliance, co-sponsored an event “#OPENGAZA: TRAUMA AND HOPE, FIRST HAND tour.” Dr. Yasser Abu-Jamie, MD, Executive Director of Gaza Community Health Programme and Ran Goldstein, Executive Director of Physicians for Human Rights, Israel briefed about Gaza’s mental health crisis and the impact of the blockade, especially among children.
- n 29 October, the Center for Palestine Studies, Middle East Institute at Columbia University in New York will present “The Native and the Refugee project”, a multimedia project by the filmmakers and producers Matt Peterson and Malek Rasamny, that brings together the spaces of the Indian reservation and Palestinian refugee camp.
- On 31 October, the Festival of the Arab World of Montreal, Canada will present the film “Palestine Stereo” by Rashid Masharawi, a story of two brothers who planned to emigrate from Palestine to Canada after an Israeli air force bombing destroyed their family home.
Europe
- On 31 October, the Centre of Palestine Studies of the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, will hold a one-day conference “The Gaza Strip: History, Future and New Directions for Research” Sara Roy, Centre for Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University, will participate.
United Nations
- The UN Palestinian Rights Committee will observe the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on Monday, 23 November 2015 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Observances will also be held at the UN Offices at Geneva on 30 November and at Vienna on 24 November, as well as in many other major cities around the world in cooperation with the UN Information Centres. Invitations to attend to accredited and observer CSOs will be sent shortly.
- The UN Palestinian Rights Committee in cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will hold the International Meeting on the Question of Jerusalem in Jakarta, Indonesia from 14 to 15 December. A Civil Society Forum will be held on 16 December. Invitations to attend to accredited and observers CSOs will be sent shortly.
