Global
- On 1 June, Oxfam International published a paper entitled “No end in sight: 50 Years of Impunity and Inaction in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT)”.
Middle East
- On 31 May, Defense for Children International – Palestine reported that Israeli security forces had shot and killed a Palestinian child, the second such incident of the month. DCI-Palestine also reported on 29 May that a teen from Gaza was injured after being shot while participating in a demonstration on 23 May.
- On 28 May, Hamoked published its correspondence with the Israeli Ministry of Justice on the issue of requests by victims’ families to watch the punitive demolition or sealing of Palestinian family homes on 28 May. On 29 May, it also released an update on its ongoing efforts to have the state of Israel recognize the relationship between a woman and her son, who is currently imprisoned in an Israeli jail.
- Following the death of a Palestinian man who was denied access to medical treatment, Al Mezan Center for Human Rights issued a press release on 30 May calling on the international community to take steps that would lead to put an end to the continued closure and blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip.
- On 30 May, the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights published a press release condemning the Gaza Ministry of Interior for banning Dr. Zakariya al-Agha, a PLO official, from travelling to the West Bank. PCHR also released a short video on 1 June entitled “Inhumane Blackmailing of a Child from the Gaza Strip”.
- On May 31, the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions released a “Demolition and Displacement Summary” for May 2017.
- Gaza Community Mental Health Programme completed a series of workshops on psychodrama for children on 31 May.
- B’Tselem issued a press release on 1 June announcing that its Executive Director, Hagai El-Ad, would discuss ending the occupation in meetings with top European officials on 1 and 2 June.
- On 2 June, Peace Now announced that 2,500 settlement housing units will be advanced in meetings of the High Planning Committee of the Civil Administration held on 6 and 7 June.
Europe
- The Palestinian Return Centre delivered a memorandum to UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson on 27 May urging the British government to take action to address the blockade of the Gaza Strip.
- On 26 May, Medical Aid for Palestinians released a statement about its efforts to provide essential treatment or patients with kidney failure (“Protecting the Lives of Patients with Kidney Failure in Gaza”).
