RESPONSE HIGHLIGHTS DELIVERING ESSENTIAL AID TO GAZA
IOM is utilizing its extensive logistics networks to transport essential aid into Gaza. Once there, aid is distributed to those in need through partnerships with UN agencies, INGOs and local NGOs. The supplies are sourced through a variety of channels, including bilateral partnerships, in-kind donations and IOM’s Common Pipeline Programme, which is a resource available to other organizations. The majority of incoming IOM items are routed through the Jordan or Egypt Corridor.
IOM WINTERIZATION PLAN 2024
IOM’s winterization planning for Gaza addresses the urgent needs of people facing harsh winter conditions, with 185 areas identified as high risk for flooding. As temperatures drop below 5°C and nearly 60% of WASH infrastructure is damaged, the risk of further displacement, waterborne disease and shelter collapse escalates. IOM supports partners on the ground with the procurement and delivery of life-saving aid to increase access to safe shelter, water and well-managed sites.
