ASSEMBLY PRESIDENT, SADDENED BY LOSS OF YOUNG ISRAELI LIVES,
CALLS FOR SUPPORT OF MIDDLE EAST PEACE PROCESS
The following statement was issued today by the President of the General Assembly, Razali Ismail (Malaysia):
Members of the General Assembly are saddened and distressed by the loss of young lives in the incident at the Jordanian-Israeli border today, which underlined the precariousness of the Middle East peace process. It is incumbent upon governments and individuals to support action and commitments to move that process forward, as any kind of action — rational and irrational — can derail it.
