Possible Establishment of Joint Committees (Com.Gen./15)

The CHAIRMAN recalled that the Secretariat had been requested, at the previous meeting, to amend the draft report to the Commission on the establishment of Joint Committees. He thought the new text, which had already been examined by the members of the General Committee, was a true reflection of the views expressed.

The draft report in question was adopted without discussion.

The CHAIRMAN thought it would be of advantage if the General Committee, when submitting the report to the Commission, appended a few observations stressing the points in the report on which discussion within the General Committee had brought out certain divergencies of opinion with regard to the procedure to be recommended. The purpose of the observations submitted would be to spare the Commission a debate on points which had already been thoroughly examined by the members of the General Committee. He might add that the recommendations contained in the report were merely a guide to the procedure to be adopted for the establishment of the Joint Committee.

It was so agreed.

The meeting rose at 4.45 p.m.
