UNITED NATIONS CONCILIATION COMMISSION FOR PALESTINE
COMMUNIQUE
The Committee on Jerusalem, on behalf of the United Nations Conciliation Commission for Palestine, has asked the delegation of Israel for clarification of certain press reports of declarations made in the Israeli Parliament concerning the installation of certain Israeli governmental services in Jerusalem. The Committee on Jerusalem also called attention to various press statements alluding to the transfer of some governmental services from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
The Israeli delegation declared that it knew nothing of the declarations in the Israeli Parliament reported by the press, but that it would communicate with its Government on this matter.
The delegation of Israel further stated that the policy of the Government with regard to Jerusalem continued to be that set forth by Mr. Eban, permanent representative of Israel with the United Nations, during the debate preceding the admission of Israel to the United Nations.
