UNITED NATIONS CONCILIATION COMMISSION FOR PALESTINE
Letter dated 5 November 1951
addressed to the Chairman of the Conciliation Commission
by the Representative of Egypt
Sir,
On my return from Berne, where I was detained for the past four days on business, I found the letter of 31 October in which Your Excellency asked to be informed whether my delegation was prepared to resume with the Commission the consideration of its comprehensive proposals, in the light of the explanations which it had given to the parties.
In reply, I hasten to inform Your Excellency that, as I have already had the opportunity of stating before the Commission several times, my delegation, in pursuance of its policy of collaboration with the Commission with a view to finding a just and lasting solution of the Palestine problem, is prepared to examine those proposals with the Commission and to present its views concerning them.
I am therefore ready at any time to attend a meeting arranged by the Commission for the purpose of considering the proposals with the Arab delegations.
Please accept, Sir, the renewed assurances of my highest consideration.
