UNITED NATIONS CONCILIATION COMMISSION FOR PALESTINE
GENERAL COMMITTEE
Letter dated 7 September 1949
addressed by the Chairman of the
General Committee to the Head of the
Delegation of Israel
Sir,
On 6 September the General Committee of the Conciliation Commission was informed by the Arab delegations of their acceptance of the draft terms of reference for the proposed Mixed Working Group on Arab orange groves. The Arab delegations, however, suggested that the words “without delay” be inserted in the fourth paragraph between the words “will proceed” and “into the field”.
The General Committee accepted the proposed Arab amendment and hereby submits it to your delegation for its consideration. The Committee would greatly appreciate a reply on this matter at your earliest convenience and would be quite prepared to hold a meeting in order to hear your views on the draft terms of reference as soon as you communicate your readiness to impart them.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your obedient servant,
Geoffrey de la Tour du Pin
Chairman of the
General Committee
